UNA-NYC Fall/Winter Clothing Drive

UNA-NYC is promoting a clothing drive throughout November 2024 — just in time for the Fall/Winter season.

Our initiative has already been supported by one of our Summer Scholars, Lalash Segooa, who reached out to fellow Scholars to set up collection points on their respective campuses.

As inspired members of UNA-NYC, you are invited to participate in the drive by bringing your donations directly to the front desk at the Bowery Mission located at 227 Bowery in downtown New York City. What’s needed? New socks, new underwear, clean shoes and coats for women, men or both. You can bring up to three large trash bags of donations. Drop-off period: November 10-29.

This is more than just a clothing drive; it’s a social impact mission that directly supports United Nations Sustainable Development Goals — specifically SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities) and SDG 1 (No Poverty). In New York City alone, over 70,000 people are homeless — including more than 20,000 children. This initiative will provide crucial clothing to keep vulnerable individuals warm. Additionally, with around 1.4 million New Yorkers living below the poverty line, many struggle to afford basics like clothing.

So let’s make a difference — and help clothe and warm the men and women of NYC this season!
